Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is the governing body for Westminster Mind as both a charity and a company.

Subscribed members can stand for election to the Executive Committee at the Annual General Meeting each November.  The Executive Committee has responsibility for good governance and future strategy.

The Executive Committee meets every two months and they meet with the Management Team for an Annual Strategy Meeting.

There is a Finance Subcommittee which also meets every two months.

Executive Committee Officers

Chairman - John Thompson

John Thompson has been Chair of Westminster Mind since May 2011 and a trustee since September 2008. He is the Chief Executive of St Martins, a London housing association that specialises in the rehabilitation of people with forensic mental health histories.


Treasurer - Patrick Moorsom

He is a qualified accountant and spent his career in banking, serving as Managing Director and Chairman of a Merchant Bank

Joe Lee

Simon has both a strong background in new media design and development and considerable experience as an art director in the film/television industries.
He has also set up and run ‘The Making Space’, a company teaching unusual craft classes such as glass engraving, mask making, book hollowing, and armoury. He is a published poet, and aspiring artist. He hopes that his experience of mental health difficulties can help to guide Westminster Mind.
